Reflexology Supporting Cancer

I have been lucky enough to attend a course run by Dr Peter Mackereth at The Christy Hospital Manchester in adapting reflexology for supportive and palliative care. Peter is one of a handful of people in the world who has a PhD in Reflexology and is an Honorary Lecturer at Manchester University.

The therapeutic use of reflexology has been recognised for thousands of years and benefits for people with cancer can be both

  • Physical : Helping reduce pain and oedema and boost energy levels
  • Emotional : Helping relieve stress fear and anxiety, promote relaxation and hopefully help the patient to cope better with what is happening to them.
